When buying from us, with both our website and the personal service offered, we attempt to give the customer the facts on every aspect of the process so that they may make an informed decision on what is an important purchase.

The four elements of diamond quality: In recent times, diamond quality is most often associated with 'The four Cs', cleverly publicised and marketed by De Beers; clarity, colour, cut and carat. The first two most influence the price but increasingly the cut of a stone will reflect on it's value, with the better cut stones attracting a significant premium in the trade.

Diamond Clarity
A diamond's clarity is determined by the presence of inclusions and how visible they are. The fewer and smaller the inclusions, the better the clarity and the greater its brilliance and value.

Diamond Colour
Most diamonds are graded on a scale using the letters of the alphabet, from D (colourless), the highest grade, through to Z (a light yellow). We advise our customers to consider diamonds only with a colour grade J or higher.

Diamond Cut
The cut ultimately determines the sparkle of a stone. It refers to the angles and proportions of the stone and how the diamond reflects the light.

Diamond Carat Weight
A diamond's weight, or size, is measured in carats. Larger stones are more highly valued, but size should not be the only consideration - clarity, colour and cut will all have an affect on the value of the diamond.
